Bill Clinton slams ‘awful legacy of the last eight years

Former President Bill Clinton slammed what he called the “awful legacy of the last eight years” during a campaign appearance for his wife, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, in Washington state Monday.

Clinton made the remarks at an event in Spokane ahead of Saturday’s Washington state Democratic caucuses.

“If you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us,” Clinton said, “and the seven years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her.”

The remarks appeared to be a shot at President Barack Obama, in whose administration Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state and whose policies she has defended in her primary campaign against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Republicans quickly seized on the statement, posting a video of the remarks to YouTube.

However, a Clinton spokesman told USA Today that the former president was referring to Republicans in Congress with his “awful legacy” remark.
“After President Obama was elected, Republicans made it their number one goal to block him at every turn,” spokesman Angel Urena said. “That unprecedented obstruction these last eight years is their legacy, and the American people should reject it by electing Hillary Clinton to build on President Obama’s success so we can all grow and succeed together.”

Hillary Clinton has a lead of more than 300 delegates over Sanders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination from primaries and caucuses following a sweep of five states March 15. Alaska and Hawaii also hold Democratic caucuses on Saturday, but Washington has the most delegates ultimately at stake with 101.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Look, I am all for Clinton slamming the last eight years but for different reasons. He is not being patriotic and slamming a lawless president that has revived racism in this nation. And naturally he is not slamming his former secretary of state wife  for getting Americans killed in Benghazi and trying to cover it up, nor is he slamming Obama for saddling our nation with trillions upon trillions of new debt. there is plenty of slamming to go around. How about his wife and an illegal email server and a years worth of lies about that for which she may be indicted? Yes the number one goal at some point did become the need to block Obama and why? Because he has president decided he did not have to work with congress and the senate. And he was aided in this decision by democrats what willingly turned a blind eye to how the government is supposed to work.. They passed ObamaCare behind closed doors without putting that legislation out there for everybody to read. At that point they decided it was the democratic role to play god Remember the Pelosi line “We have to pass it to see whats in it” that was something unheard of before Obama and he went willingly along with this crap knowing it flew in the face of how our government was designed to run. No the GOP has not been perfect in the last eight years but in the last elections the GOP won huge majorities in almost all elections. You see that was the people understanding that the democrats including Obama had crossed a line and the debt and divide needed to end. The democrats did not learn a lesson, what did they do as this presidential election rolled around? They dusted off the old war horse felon who may soon be indicted and let her run for president. This is a democratic party that has no soul, they want so bad to remain in power that they did not even care what the consequences could be to this nation by running a candidate that may face a stint in prison.Like I said there is plenty to slam we on the right have been at times part of the problem but largely Obama dictated eight years of failure because he chose to leave congress out of it by running this nation on executive order where he did not have to get approval on many of the major battles. Like our second amendment rights. We should be thankful he has failed as often as he did or this nation would be in even worse shape after eight years of lawlessness and division.

Signing off, But never tapping out

God Bless America
