America – He’s Your President for Goodness Sake!

By William Thomas

There was a time not so long ago when Americans, regardless of their political stripes, rallied round their president. Once elected, the man who won the White House was no longer viewed as a republican or democrat, but the President of the United States. The oath of office was taken, the wagons were circled around the country’s borders and it was America versus the rest of the world with the president of all the people at the helm.

Suddenly President Barack Obama, with the potential to become an exceptional president has become the glaring exception to that unwritten, patriotic rule.

Four days before President Obama’s inauguration, before he officially took charge of the American government, Rush Limbaugh boasted publicly that he hoped the president would fail. Of course, when the president fails the country flounders. Wishing harm upon…

  1. Will, after having read your rant I want address a few things, the first being, you are not an American citizen and thus you may not be aware of what bad taste it is for you to comment on how we Americans view this president and his lies, failure, and efforts to divide the people of this nation. I would also like to make note now that though you feel free to comment about “We the People” you have as well disabled comments on your words, which to me sends a message that like our president you have no care for how “We the People” feel about your observations. Thus you have basically ended any possible attempt at reaching some form of understanding.
    It is almost comical that you would speak as you do never having lived under the leadership of the Obama administration. During the reign of Obama we have endured lie after lie, scandal after scandal and attempts by him to inject himself into anything that could have racial elements. You are aware I am sure he appointed Eric Holder as Attorney General and that Eric Holder was held in contempt, has openly flaunted the laws of this nation and compared us all to a nation of cowards. The president granted Eric Holder executive privilege so he would not be held accountable for a federal gun running sting that ended up with murdered Border Patrol agents.
    How about Benghazi? More dead Americans at the hands of terrorists and what does the administration do? They try to cover it up by blaming the attack on a youtube video. You know I remember when Canada’s health care system was overburdened and Canadians sometimes came here to the United States for excellent health care. Now our health care system has been destroyed by Obama though he did not write the law he signed it into law never having read it. Look it has been a long six years of wasted money, wasted time and wasted lives and you want to sit back and dare admonish us Americans because we expect higher standards from our leadership? We sir are American citizens that have expectations and one of them is having a competent President and not some fool who knows nothing about leadership or the true feelings of the American people. You see Will We have expectations of anybody that campaigns for and wins the office of the President. We don’t expect to be treated like we do not matter because it is the Presidents job to serve the needs of the people, not demonize them because of success. You see that is simply not the American way!
    In America a man must earn respect and that respect or lack thereof is a reflection of the man and his actions.

    • Great response to this ridiculous post, I have been told that I should respect obama because he is president, but just like you said respect is earned and he most certainly has not earned mine, he is by far the worst president we have had.

  2. I agree, good to see you are still active. =)

    • Nice response my friend. We will respect the office, anyone that fills the office must earn the respect as you have plainly stated. Sitting in the White House with a title means nothing, unless you represent and lead the people that put you there…….if you do, then you will earn the respect, if you don’t…..your name might be Obama.

  3. “.if you do, then you will earn the respect, if you don’t…..your name might be Obama.”

    Classic =)
